CAP Initiative first meeting a success;
next one scheduled for June 22

consequences associated with alcohol and underage drinking. Pictured

The Catoosa County Alcohol Prevention Initiative held its first town hall meeting May 13. Project coordinator Candy Hullender said the meeting was a success.

Many people attended, including faith-based organizations, county commissioner Ken Marks, Bruce Taub with the Department of Juvenile Justice, Georgia State Patrol officers, Catoosa County Sheriff’s Office deputies, the county school system, behavioral health individuals and even representatives from the Boy Scouts.

The guest speaker was April Tucker who lost her son to alcohol poisoning.

The next meeting is scheduled for June 22 at Tiger Creek Elementary School from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.

Richard Williams, a Fort Oglethorpe police officer who lost his 21-year-old son in an alcohol-related accident, will be our next guest speaker.
